Thanksgiving and Traditions

Kylin is helping grandma make a salad for Thanksgiving dinner. What would I have done without such a good little helper.
Thanksgiving 2008. It is good to have everyone here again.

Every year the day after Thanksgiving we go to Tillamook and eat grilled cheese sandwiches and ice cream. Then we go and hang out at the beach. This is one tradition we will definately miss when we are in Idaho. We missed Chelsea and Jesse they were trying to get something done while we took Kylin.

Smiles, which one is Kylin? WOW thoes french fries have eyes! (and a smile)

We love Agate beach. Today it was very overcast but my two girls brightened up the beach...

I am not sure what they are doing but they look cute anyways!!

So you think you can dance!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypdudrIfdtQ

This is my favorite dance... I love the dance and I love the song.

Thankful

What a week. Jeremy has been home almost a whole week. This week has just zoomed by. Is'nt it ironic that time flys bye so fast when you wished it would'nt and drags when you want things to hurry along. Humm I am sure there are good reasons for this. (to drive us all nuts)
I want to take the time and write a few things I am thankful for.
First and formost is my sweetheart. Things are so stressful right now. I am a real grump... Lane works both ends of the candle trying to get everything done. I love him sooo much.
Second: My family: My sweet mom and dad. They are the best and I am know that they are so happy to be together again and watch over us each day. I am blessed with such sweet children Rachelle, Chelsea, Jesse, Jeremy, Cassie and my grandson Kylin. They are so kind to each other and to me. My sisters Joan and Laurie they are my rock, and all my aunts and uncles, Lanes side of the family. I love them soooo much too. One could never wish for such a great family and get it. I did! I know that I am so blessed to have them all.
Third: The church! My life would be a mess if I did not have such a wonderful base for my life and my family.
Fourth: My friends, All I can say is thats what friends are for.

I am so grateful for the chance to live here in Oregon and live in such a beautiful state. I look forward to the new adventures in Idaho.

Happy Thanks giving eveyone!!!

The eagle has landed

Elder Hillam made it home!!! Yea... His plane had a tail wind and was 25 minutes early. We almost missed the big Hah Raaa!!! As he walked toward us this is what he saw. A bunch of crazies with funny cowboy hats on. Oh my what a site.
He looks so wonderful I could not quit staring at him. This day I will never forget!!!

What a wonderful day. Lots of good friends and family. We are so grateful for Jeremy and the choice he made to serve the Lord for two years of his young life. I am so thankful for the church and all is does for me and my family. We are very blessed. 11/19/08 we will never forget...

Two more days and my sweet Jeremy gets home!!!

This is part of the email he sent me this morning. It is so bitter sweet to know that this is the end of something that has been sooo good for Jeremy and our family. But I am sure that there more wonderful things to come.

From Jeremy-
I have alot of mixed emotions. To be honest it really hasn't sunk in. I feel like I have been a missionary my whole life and that i am jsut going to be transferred. I guess in a way I am, but it's a really undescribable feeling. I got cassies package. It was AWESOME. I got it the day I was really sick so ai slept in the hat and scarf and these sungalsses i bought at a thrift store. I felt like a fighter pilot. I even made machine gun noises for a little.
Haha, work on Tuesday? Yeah right. :) J/k I am getting up at like 4:30 AM and taking a bus to Lubbock! I will spend the whole day with my buddies I am going home with, and then we will have a departing interview and dinner with our mission president. Tonight at 8 PM is my last teaching appointment as a full-time missionary. It will be cool. The awesome thing is that yesterday we had 2 investigators at church. They are the first ones in like a year. One is going to be baptised for sure. His brother is in our ward, and we didnt even know. It was sweet. Kind makes me want to stay.(no offence, I want to see y'all also)Well Thank you for all the e-mails. I am really excited to talk in person. It will be a good time. Anyways, I love you. :)

I lvoe you.-Elder Jeremy "Viva Oregon!(for a couple weeks)" Hillam

Its time to rake the leaves...

Its been quite a day. Lane I woke up early and raked the leaves out on our lawn. Its amazing how many leaves can fall from 2 trees. But I love fall it reminds me of my childhood. Growing up we lived in the middle of 10 huge trees and we loved to rake the leaves into pretend walls and would play house for hours on end until it was time to get out the large canvase tarps. We would rake the leaves onto the tarps and all of us kids would drag it out to the garden where we would light them on fire. I can still smell the burning leaves. What good times!
